Summer 2008 will bring you the chance to join Coach Helene Van Manen and her Environmental Educator husband Dave on 87 miles of the San Juan River.
This 84-mile stretch is considered the classic San Juan River adventure. We will visit ancient rock art sites and cliff dwellings and travel through 300-million years' worth of colorful rock layers. The river meanders through the famous deep canyon of the Goosenecks of the San Juan. Alluring side canyons feature pools, springs, waterfalls, and sculpted grottos with hanging gardens. Remote River Trips are one of the most amazing ways to spend time in Wild Nature and learn more about your soulful relationship to the natural world.

Join Retreat Mentor Coach Helene Van Manen for 7days and 6 nights on the San Juan River. If you love adventure and visiting remote and wild places, then this trip is for you. Co-led by Master Certified Coach Helene Van Manen and Dave Van Manen   – Non-Profit Founder & Director, Naturalist, Author and Environmental Educator (hikeandlearn.org), they will bring their own special flavor of outdoor awareness to each day’s theme. 

And with The Van Manens background as performing musicians, you can rest assured that your float will include music to inspire your life under the desert’s night skies.

You may bring a partner or friend to join you for this experience. They will get the full benefits of a wild river trip and grow their relationship to Nature. This group is being limited to 10 people plus Dave and Helene.

About The Retreat Coaches
Dave and Helene have been a couple since finding each other as teenagers in NYC in the 70's. They spent their first couple of decades together writing and performing environmental children's music throughout North America. During this time they raised two children....Sierra and Sequoia. Now, thirty years later, The Van Manens continue to use their relationship as a vehicle to do important work. Helene is a Master Certified Coach working with couples, women in transition, and specializes in leading retreats.   Dave is the Director of the Mountain Park Environmental Center (hikeandlearn.org), where he provides opportunities for poeple to learn about and connect with the natural world. Together, Dave and Helene specialize in creating retreats that introduce people to wild places in Nature. You are invited to journey with them to this remote and beautiful Utah river canyon for a trip you will never forget.
